At CP Farms we grow and harvest the Provence culinary variety of lavender. Culinary lavender is ideal to use whole or ground in all sweet and savory dishes. Its unique and fresh scent can freshen up your drawers, closets or any room in the house. Lavender is also a natural deterrent for pests! We harvest each July and hang to dry in a clean environment. After the drying is complete our Lavender is ready for market. Click here to purchase our Lavender Sachets. Our Lavender is grown without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers.

Lavender Hydrosol and Pure Lavender Essential Oil.
Our Pure Lavender Essential Oil is produced by a steam distillation process. Materials from the plant are placed in a section in the distiller above the rainwater. The mixture is then brought to a boil and steam is produced. Steam is used to rupture the oil membranes in the plant and release the essential oil. Steam distillation is the preferred method for Lavender Oil Extraction. Condensation produced by the steam through the “cooler” portion of the distiller is collected and the essential oil floats on the top of the rainwater in a thin film and are then separated. The rainwater and oil that remain after the process are known as a hydrosol. Hydrosols are therefore a byproduct of the steam distillation process, not to be confused with a floral water. We use no pesticides and killers on our farm and we distill with rain water.

Lavender for Skin Care: Lavender has many healing properties and is especially known for helping in healing the skin. It's effectiveness in treating burns was first discovered by French biochemist René Gattefossé when he cooled his hand in a handy vat of lavender after burning it in a lab accident. This storied burn healed so quickly, and without scarring, that it is often cited as a seminal event in the birth a modern aromatherapy. (Balch, 89) To treat skin abrasions first clean the affected area with warm water with 5 drops of lavender diluted in a bowl. Apply one neat drop of lavender and leave to heal. Acne responds to gentle herbal oil treatments that are much lighter and less harsh than over-the-counter chemicals. Lavender skin care products are ideal for oily and combination skin. Dot essential oils of lavender on blemishes to kill bacteria. Lavender oil is an effective antiseptic. A lavender massage on the chest and lymph nodes is relaxing and helps kill germs. A few drops of lavender essential oil make a good balancing and sweet smelling perfume.
Pure Lavender Essential Oil all by itself heals burns and infections and is great for skin care as well.

Lavender Hydrosol is a natural and (technically speaking) permanent colloidal suspension of a small amount of essential lavender oil in a large volume of water. We neither add-to nor dilute the lavender hydrosol in any way.
Hydrosols are a unique product that is made in the distillation process and can not be recreated synthetically. They contain minute, but effective amounts of essential oils and can be used in many different ways, for instance as an air freshener, room mist, as a spray to keep you cool and refreshed. Our Lavender Hydrosols are also created using rainwater which sets it apart from any others on the market.
